Scattered among the nations

Hello, God’s word for me today is in Ezekiel 30:26 which says,

“I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”

Have you been seeing a pattern in Ezekiel? A nation sins and then the Lord says that He is going to destroy that nation because of their sins, then the Lord sends a nation (in this case Babylon) against them to destroy the nation that sinned. But the reason is always because of sin, here the Egyptians sinned and so the Lord sent Babylon against them and scatter them through the countries.

The Egyptians sinned and they were going to die, the Egyptians sinned and so did we. We were sinners and because of our sins we deserved to die with all of our sins on us and all of God’s wrath poured out against us, in fact every human that ever lived deserved to die. But why didn’t we, we clearly weren’t perfect and because of that we should die, plus there wasn’t a perfect sacrifice in the whole world. Why didn’t we die?

Jesus was the reason, there wasn’t a perfect sacrifice on earth but God sent one down from heaven that would die for our sins and atone for our sins perfectly. The sacrifice that atoned for our sins was Jesus. Jesus who was (and is) the son of God (and God Himself), died for our sins so that we could live. He died for our sins on a cross which was the death that was usually reserved for the worst of criminals, even though Jesus Himself didn’t do anything wrong He died on the cross with our sins on Him.

Now we come to the question why, why would the perfect creator of all time die for us wretched sinners?

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” (NIV 1 John 3:16)

Jesus not only loved us so much that He died for us, but Jesus was love, He was the perfect example of love. He showed us what love is, it is that He laid down His life for sinners, for us. Now we should love others and we should praise Jesus as our savior and we should worship Him. He loved us so much that He died for us, now we should love Him enough to praise Him and to share the Gospel with others so that they can come to eternal life.

Jesus came down from heaven lived a perfect life and died for us, but on the third day He rose from the grave then He ascended into heaven and is now preparing a place for us, thank you so much Jesus. Now our response should be to worship Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior and to love others.

Are you trusting in Jesus as the atonement for your sins?
