Hide in Christ

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Jeremiah 49:30 which says,

“Flee quickly away! Stay in deep caves, you who live in Hazor,” declares the LORD. “Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has plotted against you; he has devised a plan against you.”

Alright, so this verse is talking about Kedar and the kingdoms of Hazor, and the Lord is telling them to run and hide because the king of Babylon has planned against them. It’s nothing too bad, Kedar and Hazor are just going to be destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar, so they have to run and hide.

But of course Kedar and Hazor are a picture of us. Well like always we have to bring out Kedar and Hazors situation, they were being plotted against and warned to hide from Nebuchadnezzar. And we were sinners who needed to hide because we were going to have the wrath of God on us, but you can’t hide from God, so there was no way of escaping. But if we can’t escape from God’s wrath then why aren’t we all dead?

Because of Jesus! Jesus is the rock that we can hide in, He is our savior, but how? Jesus was (and is) perfect and he came down from heaven to die on the cross for us, He took our sins on Him and He gave us His righteousness!

“God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (NIV 2 Corinthians 5:21)

Jesus became sin for us so that we could be the righteousness of God, isn’t that amazing, that the son of God (although Jesus is God because Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit are 3 in 1) would die for our sins. That He would humble Himself to not only become human but to die on the cross, because the cross was reserved for the worst sinners.

So we can hid in Jesus because Jesus died for us on the cross.

Are you trusting in Jesus’ atoning sacrifice?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
