Hi, God’s word for me today is in Jeremiah 41:2 which says, ”

Ishmael son of Nethaniah and the ten men who were with him got up and struck down Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, with the sword, killing the one whom the king of Babylon had appointed as governor over the land.”

In my last post I talked about how this was going to happen. How Gedaliah was going to be killed, and in this post he is. Ishmael killed Gedaliah and what in the verses after this one Johanan went after Ishmael and tried to kill him, but he escaped. So anyway Ishmael killed “the one whom the king of Babylon had appointed as governor over the land”.

In this post Gedaliah is still the picture of Jesus. Gedaliah was appointed by the king of Babylon to be the governor of the land. Jesus was appointed by the king (or God) to die for us. The difference is that the king of Babylon and God are way different, and Jesus died for us, He wasn’t appointed as the governor of the land. But another way that Gedaliah is like Jesus that (like I said in my last post) Gedaliah was going to go in-between the Israelites and the king of Babylon but he died, and Jesus died for us and went between us and God.

Because we were dead in our sins Jesus came and died for us. Because we needed to be perfect or needed a perfect sacrifice, Jesus came down from Heaven and was that perfect sacrifice. Thank you Jesus. If you haven’t accepted Jesus as your mediator, then why not do in now?

If you want Jesus to be your savior then pray this prayer with me, (or something like it)

Dear Heavenly father, thank you for sending your son to die for me. Please forgive me of all of my sins, in Jesus name amen.

Are you believing in Jesus to be your savior?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
