Despised and rejected

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Jeremiah 14:19 which says, Have you rejected Judah completely? Do you despise Zion? Why have you afflicted us a so that we cannot be healed? Why have you afflicted us so that we cannot be healed? Why have you afflicted us so that we cannot be healed? We hoped for peace but no good has come, for a time of healing but there is only terror.”

This is a result of sin, God’s wrath. And even though they offered sacrifices they were also to other gods and you can’t repent while your still in sin, and that is just what the Israelites were doing. They offered sacrifices to God and other “gods” and God’s wrath was on them. The verse says “have you rejected Judah” and “do you despise Zion” and God’s wrath was on Judah and Zion because of their sins.

And God’s wrath would have been on us, if there was not an atoning sacrifice. Jesus was and is that sacrifice, He died for our sins on the cross. He came down from Heaven and lived a perfect life and He died for our sins on the cross! And He was buried but on the third day He rose from the grave. He was despised and rejected for us, He had all of God’s wrath on Him.

He had God’s wrath and our sins on Him so that we could go free of our sins. And if we believe in Jesus we are dead to our sins, so we shouldn’t keep on sinning, were dead to our sins and alive in Christ. Jesus is our atoning sacrifice and He atoned for our sins, thank you so much Jesus, we should be thankful for Jesus‘ sacrifice.

Are you trusting in Jesus as your savior?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
