The Lord’s people

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Jeremiah 11:4 & 4 which says, “Tell them that this is what the Lord, the God of Israel says: ‘Cursed is the man who does not obey the terms of this covenant the terms I commanded your forefathers when I brought them out of Egypt, out of the iron-smelting furnace.’ I said, ‘ Obey me and do everything I command you, and you will be my people, and I will ve your God.

The Israelites didn’t obey God, and The Lord said that “cursed is everyone who didn’t obey the covenant” and the Israelites weren’t obeying God in anything. Even though God had rescued them from the “iron-smelting furnace” of Egypt they turned their backs on God and they didn’t obey Him. They thought that offering sacrifices would help because they had offered sacrifices before and that was what atoned for their sins, but they also offered sacrifices to baal. They couldn’t just continue sinning and be free from their sins because of an animals sacrifice.

The Israelites were rescued by the Lord but they rejected Him and sinned against Him. And we have sinned against God but Jesus rescued us from the iron smelting furnace of sin and hell. We have a sacrifice that completely atoned for all of our sins, He died once and that was all that was needed. He is Jesus. Jesus died for our sins on the cross so that we could go free of them, thank you so much Jesus.

Jesus died for us to rescue us and instead of being like the Israelites we should trust in Jesus always and remind ourselves always of the gospel, and He will deliver us. Just like Daniels friends, they went into a furnace and they came out alive, they didn’t even smell like smoke.

God is always with us and we need to trust in Jesus sacrifice for us.

Are you trusting in Jesus’ sacrifice?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
