Hi, God’s word for me today is in Jeremiah 9:25 which says, “The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will punish all who are circumcised only in the flesh.”
I’ve already said some things about circumcision of the heart awhile back. And here isn’t much different. This is a big example of the pharisees, they were circumcised in the flesh and they looked good, but they really weren’t. And when we talked about circumcision of the heart that didn’t mean that we circumcise our hearts physically. We need to circumcise our hearts spiritually.
We are all born with hard sinful hearts, and that is why Jesus died. The Israelites had sacrifices and offering that they could do but that really didn’t atone for their sins, that was just pointing forward to Jesus. Like I said before we are born with hard and sinful hearts but if we accept Jesus He will circumcise our hearts and He changes us. Jesus sacrifice was the only sacrifice that was needed so we don’t need to offer lambs and bulls.
Jesus died for our sins on the cross and He circumcised our hearts and he took away our sins in exchange for His righteousness and perfection. Of course we still sin but because of Jesus’ blood that is covering us, we are perfect in God’s eyes. Thank you Jesus.
are you trusting in Jesus as your savior?
