Sacrificing children?!?

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Jeremiah 7:31 which says, “They have built the high places of Topeth in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire- something I did not command, nor did enter my mind.

That’s what sin does to you. They sacrificed their kids! Can you think of that? Well please don’t but that doesn’t even seem human. Sin deluded them so much that they sacrificed their children! Sin can do some bad things to you. But no human can overcome sin, well we can’t on our own. Jesus overcame sin, I know, you saying that Jesus was human and you just said that no human can overcome sins. So Jesus couldn’t overcome sins if your right. Well Jesus was human but He was (and is) also God.

Jesus came down from Heaven and was God-man and He lived a perfect life and then after going through a kangaroo court the Jews killed Him. Even though He was (and is) innocent. Pilate didn’t want the Jews to go tell Herod what He was saying, so to make them happy, he killed Jesus. And not only did he kill Jesus he hung Him on a cross. And after three days Jesus rose again!

Jesus is our rescue, if we trust in Him we are rescued from our sins. Of course we still sin, but we don’t sin habitually and the Holy Spirit is in us and He is working in us to make us more like Jesus.

Jesus died on a cross for our sins, and He gave us His righteousness in exchange for our sins. He gave us His perfection, because Jesus’ blood is covering us (spiritually) God looks at us like He was looking at His son, thank you Jesus.

Are trusting in how Jesus defeated sin for you and me?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
