Skilled… in evil?

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Jeremiah 4:22 which say, “My people are fools; they do not know me. They are senseless children; they have no understanding. They are skilled in doing evil; they know not how to do good.”

The Israelites had stayed from God, and you’re a fool if you do that! The Israelites couldn’t keep the law, even if God said “don’t follow other gods” they couldn’t obey it, I’m not saying that we can just say that we can’t help but sin I’m just saying that we can’t do it on our own. The Israelites had to offer sacrifices to please God.

We are all born with sin and the desire to sin, so were the Israelites. But we have a savior, the Israelites looked forward to the savior. Jesus is our savior! Jesus died for our sins on the cross, He saved us from our sins. He took our sins on Him and He gave us His righteousness. He is our sacrifice and our atonement, ”

He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.  (ESV 1 John 2:2)

He is our sacrifice and our atonement, propitiation means atonement so Jesus is our atonement and not only ours but He is the atonement for the whole world! We just have to trust in Jesus, because we can’t do it on our own. We can’t be perfect on our own but the Holy Spirit is making us more like Jesus, we still sin but not habitually (over and over so that we can’t stop).

Jesus forgave us of our sins, He died for us. The creator of the universe, dying for us, wretched sinners. That is amazing.

Are you trusting in Jesus and that He died for your on the cross to save you of your sins?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
