The clay and the potter

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Isaiah 64:8 which says, “Yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.”

In the verse before this one it says that no one calls on the Lord’s name because He had hidden His face from them because of their sins, Isaiah says that the Lord is their father and that he is the potter and we are the clay. The Lord formed us. The Lord formed Adam in the beginning and he and Eve were perfect at first, but the devil (in the form of a snake) came to Eve and deceived her and she took a bite from the apple from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (which God had told them not to do) and she gave some to Adam and that is how sin came into the world.

We are all sinners the Israelites were sinners and because of their sin the Lord turned His face away from them. But there was an ultimate sacrifice and that was Jesus. He came down from Heaven and He was born of a virgin and He lived a perfect life. And then He was betrayed and crucified even though Pilate himself couldn’t find any wrong with Him. And after He died He was buried and then He rose again on the third day and after appearing to thousands of people, He ascended in to Heaven. Jesus died for us and took our sins of us, thank you Jesus.

We need to trust in Jesus because He died for us. Job 25:4 says, ”

How then can man be in the right before God? How can he who is born of woman be pure? (ESV Job 25:4)

Bildad is speaking and he asks how can anyone born of a woman be pure and how can a man be right before God, the answer to that is in Romans 3:22 ,

This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.” (NIV Romans 3:22)

Through faith in Christ we can be righteous, not of the works that we have done but because of what Jesus did, if we just believe in Jesus as our savior and redeemer we are saved. Because of Jesus death on the cross we are saved from our sins, thank you so much Jesus.

Are you trusting in Jesus, have you put your faith in Him?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
