Our “righteousness”

Hi God’s word for me today is in Isaiah 57:12 which says, “I will expose your righteousness and your works, and they will not benefit you.”

I don’t have any righteousness what is he talking about? Well he is saying that their “righteousness” isn’t really righteousness at all. It is fake righteousness, self-righteousness and the pharisees had a lot of that. Oh so he really means that they don’t have righteousness. Right. But we don’t have righteousness either, and the Bible says that we have to be righteous to be right with God, and if we aren’t right with God that is a bad thing. Your right but that is why Jesus came down from Heaven to save us from our sins.

Jesus, even though He was (and is) perfect and the God of everyone and everything, died for us. Thank you Jesus. Jesus took on our sins and gave us His righteousness so that we could live, He took our penalty, ”

He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

When the verse says “propitiation” it means atonement, that’s what propitiation means, Jesus is our atonement He atoned for our sins.

Not only does our “righteousness” not benefit us it destroys us. Because our “righteousness” is really sin, our sin destroys us. But that is why Jesus died for us, thank you Jesus.

Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins?

  1. Isn’t that what we fight for? To be right in every circumstances, situation, to be honest in righteousness…….so our lives could be perfect with the spirit of god hovering over us.
    Thank you Jesus
