Hi, God’s word for me today is in Isaiah 52:13 which says, “See, my servant will act wisely; he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.”
What a clear picture of Jesus! For them it meant that they could look forward to Jesus’ coming. But this is a clear picture of the gospel. In the first part where it says that Jesus (the Lord’s servant) was wise it reminds me of a verse, ”
And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man. (ESV Luke 2:52)
When it says that Jesus (the Lord’s servant) was wise it is talking about Jesus‘ life. And it also talks about His death when it says that He was raised up. Jesus was raised up on the cross, He was on a pole or a stick (a cross) and if we look to Him we live. That is a picture of His death.
There is also a picture of His ressurection, when it says that He was highly exalted. Jesus was highly exalted when He rose from the dead, this was something for the people of Isaiah’s time to look forward to, because they sacrificed animals and offerings to God to atone for their sins. But Jesus was the ultiment sacrifice, He died for us, thak you Jesus.
Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins on the cross?
Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
