Set free

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Isaiah 51:14 which says, “The cowering prisoners will soon be set free; they will not die in their dungeon, nor will they lack bread.”

What cowering prisoners? What does he mean? Well first of all Isaiah is talking to the Israelitesand he is asking them why they turned away from God, and then because he is a prophet he prophecies. He says that the cowering prisoners will be set free. He’s talking about how Jesus set us free.

You may be wondering how this applies to Jesus. It applies to Jesus, and us, because we are sinners and we deserve to die but that’s why Jesus died for us. He gave His life for us, we were prisoners of sin, but Jesus took away our sins, thank you Jesus. Jesus took the penalty for our sins.

But that doesn’t give us a license to sin, ”

Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

We are dead to our sins and alive in Christ, thank you Jesus.

Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins on the cross?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.
