Peace and security

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Isaiah 39:8 which says, “The word of the Lord you have spoken is good,” Hezekiah replied. For he thought “There will be peace and security in my lifetime.”

Peace and security for the believer, doesn’t that sound good? All I have to do is say a little prayer and I’ll have peace and security the rest of my life. Your missing¬†something, because first of all a real believer doesn’t always have peace and security, we endure trials, and second of all you don’t just “say a little prayer” you need to know that you are sinful, and there’s nothing you can do about it, but Jesus could and did do something about it, He died for our sins, we were all sinful in the very beginning, if we’ve ever thought bad about someone or said even one lie, then you are a sinner deserving death, but that’s why Jesus died for your sins on the cross, He paid the penalty for our sins, thank you Jesus.

“He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.” (ESV 1 John 2:2)

Jesus died for us, He paid the price, but like I mentioned earlier that doesn’t give us peace and security the rest of our lives, and it certainly doesn’t give us a license to sin, ”

Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? (ESV Romans 5:20-21 & Romans 6:1-3)

We don’t have a license to sin, and we won’t have peace and security for our whole lives if were a Christian, but we do have Jesus, and Jesus is good enough, after all your not going to have a license to sin or peace and security without Jesus for the rest of your lives, but with Jesus you won’t argue all the time, and things like that, thank you Jesus.

Are you trusting that Jesus died on the cross for your sins?
