Hi, God’s word for me today is in Isaiah 36:20 which says, “Who of all the gods of these countries has been able to save his land from me? How then can the Lord deliver Jerusalem from my hand?”
Well this king of Assyria sure doesn’t know the Lord, because Israel has defeated lots of people, because of their righteousness, right? No, actually, ”
“Know, therefore, that the LORD your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for you are a stubborn people. (ESV Deuteronomy 9:6)
Oh, well then why did the Lord deliver them? Two reasons,
1: They were God’s people, or children
2:Because of the wickedness of the other nations.
Okay, so the king of Assyria didn’t know that God is not like any other “god” not a statue that is lifeless or anything like that, so how do we get the gospel? I was hoping you’d ask that, the gospel is in it because God saved us by dying on the cross for us, He saved us from our sins, when sacrificing to budah isn’t going to do anything for you, because Jesus died for us, we are now free from our sins, and we are captive to Christ, but the good kind of captive, thank you Jesus.
Jesus died for our sins, because He loved (and loves) us so much that He died for our sins, wow thank you Jesus.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through Him. (NIV John 3:16-17
That means now we should trust in Jesus.
Are you trusting that Jesus saved you from your sins on the cross?
