Jesus is our sure foundation

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Isaiah 33:6 which says, He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure.

Wow (by the way when Isaiah is talking about “Him” he means the Lord) the Lord is our foundation but how do we know? Because Jesus died for our sins on the cross! He loved (and loves us) so much that He died for us, even though He was (and is) perfect, and even though He was (and is) God, He still became human, and then, even though Pilate said He found nothing that He had done wrong, was hung on a cross, and died a criminals death, for us, thank you Jesus.

And it also says in that verse that the fear of the Lord is the way to find this treasure, and I’ve talked about what it means when it says “the fear of the Lord” not like paranoia, just to have a reverence for Him, after all He did create the universe, and everything in it, anyway, Jesus loved us so much that He died for us on the cross, He forgave us of our sins, thank you  so much Jesus.

Paul tells us that  this doesn’t mean that we can keep on sinning in Romans 5:20-21 and Romans 6:1-2 which say,”

Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? (ESV)

Paul says that we shouldn’t keep on sinning, because we are dead to our sins, thank you Jesus.

Are you trusting in Jesus as your foundation?
