Hi, God’s word for me today is in Isaiah 24:5-6 which says, “The earth is defiled by its people; they have disobeyed the laws, violated the statutes and broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore a curse consumes the earth; its people must bear their guilt. Therefore earth’s inhabitants are burned up, and very few are left.”
So here Isaiah is saying that the people in earth (us) have broken a covenant, but what covenant? The Old Covenant, because the Old Covenant, or the Old Testament, is the law, and the law says that we have to be perfect, or we die, and we have all disobeyed that, it is impossible for any human being, no matter if you think you are perfect, you aren’t, period, if you think that’s not fair, you haven’t heard the end, because now we have the New Covenant, or the New Testament, we can’t obey the old one, but now we have the new one, and the new one says that Jesus did all of that for us so that we could live, He died for our sins after living a perfect life, and He gave us His red robe of righteousness, thank you Jesus.
So Jesus died for our sins so we don’t have to be perfect, we can’t be anyway… on our own, because Jesus died for us, and Jesus was (and is) perfect, and He gave us all of His perfection, although that doesn’t mean that we are perfect, because none of us are perfect, but the Holy Spirit is living in us (spiritually) and He is making us more like Jesus, also that doesn’t mean that we can go on sinning, I’m pretty sure you know the verses in Romans that say that we are dead to our sins, but I’ll bring it out anyway, ”
Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? (ESV Romans 5:20-21 & Romans 6:1-3)
So we are dead to our sins, because of Jesus, thank you Jesus.
Do you believe that Jesus died to save you of your sins?
