Hi, God’s word for me today is in Isaiah 21:15 which says,”They flee from the sword, from the drawn sword, from the bent bow and from the heat of battle.”
So here Isaiah is just saying that these people are basically fleeing from the sword and the bow and battle, and (it may sound far-fetched) that is like what Jesus took on Him at the cross, only not as bad, because at the cross Jesus took the sins of the whole world on Him and God’s wrath for us,
“He is the atoning sins for our sins, and not only for ours but for the sins of the whole world.” (NIV 1 John 2:2 )
So Jesus is our atoning sacrifice, and He took on the sins of the whole world, and God’s wrath onto Him at the cross, but why? So that we wouldn’t have to! Because we are sinners, and because we need a saviour, Jesus was our saviour, thank you so much Jesus.
So instead of having to run for our lives, Jesus took all the punishment that made us run for our lives, we can run to Jesus, because He is our saviour, and He died for us, so He is our protector, and He took away our punishment, thank you so much Jesus.
So Jesus died for us so that we could be set free of our sins, but that doesn’t mean that we can keep sinning because Jesus forgave us, or that we have a license to sin because we are a christian, ”
Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? (ESV Romans 5:20-21 & Romans 6:1-3)
Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins on the cross.
