Hi, God’s word for me today is in Isaiah 16:5 which says, “In love a throne will be established; in faithfulness a man will sit on it- one from the house of David- one who in judging seeks justice and speeds the cause of righteousness.”
So here Isaiah is prophesying that someone from the house of David, or a descendent of David, and that His throne would be established in love, also that He would speed the cause of righteousness, I wonder who that reminds me of… oh yeah, Jesus, He didn’t sit on a physical throne on earth, but a spiritual one, so lets see if we can connect what Isaiah is saying with what Jesus did.
First of all Isaiah says that the throne would be established in love, ”
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 ESV)
So God sent His one and only son (although Jesus God and the Holy Spirit are three in one) to die for us, out of love, thank you Jesus.
Then Isaiah says that a man would sit on it in faithfulness, ”
And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying,
“My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will. (ESV Mathew 26:39)
So Jesus was (and is) faithful, He did the will of the Father.
And then He goes on to say that He would be one from the house of David, “
“What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “The son of David.” (ESV Mathew 22:42)
So Jesus was the descendent of David.
And then the last two things that Isaiah says is that He will seek justice and that He will speed the cause of righteousness, and Jesus did do that, He took on our sin and He gave us His righteousness, and so God sees us as though He saw Jesus, of course we still sin, but not habitually, and the Holy Spirit is in us, and He is making us more and more like Jesus, thank you Jesus.
Do you believe that Jesus gave you His righteousness, and that He took on your sin and your unrighteousness?
