Hi, God’s word for me today is in Song of songs 7:10 which says, “I belong to my lover, and his desire is for me.”
So the beloved is saying that she belongs to her lover, just like we belong to our lover, aka Jesus, He is our lover because, well, He loves us, and He doesn’t (He never has and never will) love us because of anything that we have done, it isn’t because we are so good, and because we are the only perfect people, because we aren’t, because we (on our own) can’t be perfect, and that is why Jesus died for us so that we don’t have to be perfect, of course that does not mean that we can live in sin, ”
Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? (ESV Romans the end of 5 and the beginning of 6)
So we shouldn’t live in sin because we are dead to it, thank you so much Jesus.
Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins on the cross?
