Hi, God’s word for me today is in Ecclesiastes 12:13 which says, “Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter; Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.”
So Solomon is basically saying that we have to be perfect in order to be right with God, and He is right, only problem is that we cannot be perfect… on our own anyway, because Jesus died for our sins on the cross we can go free of all the wrongs we’ve done or will do, and we are captive to Christ, He drew us to Himself (or He dragged us to Himself, that is what the word “draw” means), thank you so much Jesus.
So Jesus died for our sins, even though we didn’t (and don’t) deserve it, that doesn’t mean that we can live in sin though,”
Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? (ESV Romans 5:20-21 & Romans 6:1-3)
So we are dead to sin, because we were in Jesus when He died, and so we aren’t in sin’s power anymore, thank you so much Jesus.
Do you believe that Jesus set you free of your sins, and that we are His now?
