Hi, God’s word for me today is in Ecclesiastes 9:18 which says, “Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.”
So Solomon is saying that wisdom is better than war basically, but when he says that one sinner destroys much good that makes me think of us, because we are all sinners, and by sinning we “destroy” much good, because we are all born sinners, and we can’t (on our own) be perfect, but that is why Jesus died for our sins on the cross, because we can’t (and never can) be perfect Jesus died for us, thank you so much Jesus.
So Jesus died for us so that we could be perfect in God’s sight, of course we still sin, but now we have a relationship with God, and we don’t want to sin against Him, (like I already said) we do still sin, but we don’t have habitual sin, thank you Jesus for taking that from us.
But even though we are forgiven we shouldn’t keep sinning (not saying that we don’t have flesh and that we should live perfectly, it’s just that we shouldn’t live in sin),”
Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? (ESV Romans 5:20-21 and Romans 6:1-3)
So because we are dead to our sin we don’t live in it, thank you so much Jesus for dying for our sins on the cross.
Do you believe that Jesus died for you?
