Hi, God’s word for me today is in Ecclesiastes 6:2 which says, “God gives a man wealth, possessions and honor, so that he lacks nothing his heart desires, but God does not enable him to enjoy them, and a stranger enjoys them instead. This is meaningless, a grievous evil.”
So Solomon is saying that it is meaningless that God would give a man something and not let him enjoy it, but for us we don’t need to have possessions and honor, sure it might be nice, but that doesn’t mean that we need it, because we are going to die later, why would we need it, because there is something much better than physical possessions and honor, there is spiritual treasures, ”
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. (ESV Mathew 6:19-20)
So we shouldn’t store up physical possessions, we should store up spiritual possessions, and we need to thank God for what He has done for us, you may be saying that you don’t think God has done much for you, but if you look you will see He has, because first of all Jesus died for our sins, that is the greatest gift, and no human could ever do it, because we (on our own) are not perfect, but Jesus was (and is) perfect, and He, even though He didn’t deserve it, died on a cross for our sins, thank you so much Jesus. And because He died on the cross we can go free of our sins, we are captive to Christ, but that is a good thing, He drew us to Him, and the word “drew” or “draw” means to drag, so He dragged us to Him, but we should be thankful He did.
So Jesus died on the cross for our sins, even though He was (and is) perfect, and even we were sinners that didn’t deserve of it, because now we are righteous, because we have Jesus‘ blood on us, thank you Jesus.
Do you trust that Jesus died for your sins?
