Hi, God’s word for me today is in Ecclesiastes 2:11 which says, “Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun.”
So in the verses before Solomon was saying that he sought after pleasure because he wanted to be happy, but here he is saying that it was all meaningless, he says that it is a chasing after the wind, and as we all know you cannot capture the wind and so it is meaningless to chase the wind, but if pleasure is meaningless and it doesn’t make you happy then what does? Well let me rephrase that question “who makes us happy”, because the things of this world are all meaningless, but Jesus is not, He is above this world, He is eternal, and if we seek Jesus we will find Him,
“And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. (Luke 11:9 ESV)
So if we seek Jesus we will find Him, and Jesus is our only source of satisfaction, why? Because He loved (and loves) us so much that He died on the cross for our sins, even though we don’t (and never did and never will) deserve it, even though He was (and is) perfect, and even though we were sinners that didn’t deserve for Him to come and die for us, He did die, thank you so much Jesus.
So Jesus died for us not because of anything we will do have done or are doing, He chose us before the world began, thank you Jesus.
Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins?
