Seven times…

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Proverbs 24:16 which says, “For though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again, but the wicked are brought down by calamity.”

(Real quick you can read the verse before, but it says that we shouldn’t lie in wait of a righteous man) So if you look at the title to this post you might think about how Peter asked Jesus how many times we should forgive one another, and he asked Jesus if we should forgive someone seven times(Mat 18:21), that verse goes along with this verse, because it says that a righteous man falls seven times, now real quick you may be wondering about how Jesus was (and is) righteous and He never fell, well He is the son of God, He is perfect, and He gave us His perfection on the cross, we still sin, like this verse says, but we do not habitually sin, also the Lord picks us up again, so when we fall, we fall on Jesus, like that song goes, it says “fall on Jesus, fall on Jesus and live”, so we can fall on Jesus, thank you so much Jesus.

So Jesus died on the cross for our sins and He gave us His righteousness, and He took our sins on Him, and died on a cross with our sins on Him, and because He was buried our sins were buried, but they stayed in the grave, and Jesus rose from the grave on the third day, and then He ascended into heaven and is preparing a place for us, thank you so much Jesus.

So we can fall on Jesus and live, but the wicked, or those who have not accepted Jesus as their saviour, will fall when calamity comes, and that is why Jesus died on the cross, and He comes to those who have not accepted Him and He gives them a place to fall, my dad used this metaphor one time, he said that we are all on a boat with no paddle and we are headed toward a waterfall, and we are going to fall because we can’t do anything, but Jesus is in a helicopter, and He is lowering a ladder for us, and we have to grab on to it, so if we don’t fall on Jesus we are just saying that we can do it on our own, we might say that we aren’t good enough for Jesus to come and save us so I am not going to trust in Him, but that is actually insulting God, because we are saying that He isn’t good enough for me, even though He is, and He came to this earth and died for you and for me, thank you Jesus.

So Jesus died for our sins, and we should fall on Jesus, even if we do fall more than seven times, Jesus still catches us, thank you Jesus.

Are you falling on Jesus?
