Because Jesus died we are Gods people.

Hi, my promise is in Psalms 87:4 which says, “I will record Rahab and Babylon among those who acknowledge me – Philistia to, and Tyre, along with Cush – and will say, ‘This one was born in Zion.

So God says that he will record Rahab, Babylon, Philistia, Tyre and Cush, now that sounds a little weird but all of those country’s were far away from the Jews who were originally Gods people, and all of those country’s represent us, so we were not Gods people but since God sent his son Jesus to die for our sins so now we are Gods people even though we don’t believe.

In Ephesians 2:13 to the end says, But now in Christ Jesus you who were far away have been brought near though the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two on and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility, He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. Consequently. you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with Gods people and member of Gods household, built on the foundation of the apostles and  prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. and in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

So in verse 16 and in other verses it talks about how God reconcile the two nations (which were the Jews and the gentiles), just like how God reconciles us with Gods people so we are Gods people.

So Jesus died for our sins so that we could be Gods people and so that we would not get Gods wrath, so we are Gods people and we don’t get the wrath of God on us, why would Jesus do that?

Do you know your Gods child?
