Hello, God’s word for me today is in Ezekiel 29:16 which says,

“Egypt will no longer be a source of confidence for the people of Israel but will be a reminder of their sin in turning to her for help. Then they will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.’”

Okay, this verse tells us that Israel had tried to turn to Egypt for help instead of turning to God. The Lord was then going to destroy Egypt so that Egypt could be a reminder of the Israelites sins and show the Israelites that God was (and is) the one true God. Egypt was destroyed because not only was Egypt prideful (it says so in the earlier verse) but the Israelites were depending upon man instead of God as their refuge.

The Egyptians died because of their (and the Israelites) sins, the Lord destroyed them because of it. We were going to die because of our sins too. We were sinners and we were going to die because of all of the sin we committed. Unless we became suddenly perfect or we had a perfect sacrifice, we were going to die.

But that is why Jesus provided that sacrifice for us! God sent a sacrifice down from heaven that would atone perfectly for us. But what was that sacrifice, or should I say who was that sacrifice? Jesus was that sacrifice. Jesus who was (and is) the son of God (and God Himself). He died for our sins, and He didn’t just die for our sins, He died on a criminals cross for our sins. Thank you Jesus.

Now the question is why did Jesus die for our sins? Why did He sacrifice His life for us? The answer is in 1 John 3:16,

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” (NIV)

Jesus loved us so much that He died for our sins. He loved us so much, that was His reason He died for our sins. How amazing is it that Jesus would die for our sins. He loved us enough to die for our sins and we should love Him enough to worship Him and praise Him. Also we should share the good news of the Gospel with others.

We should trust in what Jesus did for us on the cross. Man might betray us but God never leaves or forsakes us.

Are you trusting in Jesus?

Grace and truth, Charity Cleveland.

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Ezekiel 28:24 which says,

““‘No longer will the people of Israel have malicious neighbors who are painful briers and sharp thorns. Then they will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.”

In this verse the Lord is saying that His people Israel wouldn’t have malicious neighbors that were painful briers and sharp thorns. The Lord is having mercy on His people by destroying their malicious neighbors and destroying the painful briers that were hurting them. The Lord also said in this verse that once He destroyed the sharp thorns the Israelites would realize that He was the Sovereign Lord.

The Lord had mercy on His people Israel and He had mercy on us. We were going to die because of our sins, the Lord couldn’t stand sin (and still can’t) and we were going to die because we were sinners. We were going to have God’s wrath on us and all of our sins on us. But the Lord had mercy on us and He sent a sacrifice that would atone for our sins perfectly. He actually sent a sacrifice down from heaven that would become our mediator.

That sacrifice was Jesus. That’s right Jesus who was (and is) the son of God (and God Himself) actually died for our sins on a cross. He actually died for our sins on the cross. Jesus came down from heaven was born of a virgin and lived a perfect life. Then after being beaten to a pulp He was made to carry the very cross that He was going to die on up a hill and then was nailed to it, and He did it all for us but why would He die on a cross for our sins? Why would the son of God come down from heaven and die for us?

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” (NIV 1 John 3:16)

Jesus loved us so much that He died for our sins on the cross. He laid down His life for us so that we could live. Also John says that because Jesus laid down His life for us we should lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. John doesn’t mean that we should die to try and save our brothers and sisters, Jesus already did that, John is saying that we should die to ourselves. Also we should share the Gospel with everyone that we can and we should praise Jesus for everything He has done for us! It is amazing how Jesus died for our sins to save us from the painful briers of sin and God’s wrath, thank you Jesus.

Are you trusting in Jesus as your savior?

Hello, God’s word for me today is in Ezekiel 27:36 which says,

“The merchants among the nations scoff at you;
you have come to a horrible end
and will be no more.’”

This passage is saying that Tyre used to be very wealthy and rich and prideful, but then the Lord says that Tyre would sink like a boat or in other words Tyre would be destroyed and in this verse it says that the merchants among the nations would scoff at Tyre and that Tyre would have a horrible ending. Of course it’s all because of sin, Tyre sinned by having other gods and other sins, and that was why the Lord destroyed them.

The people of Tyre were sinning and they thought that their riches could make them the most powerful nation but their wealth and them “sunk” like a boat and they were destroyed because of their sins and we were going to be destroyed because of our sins, because the Lord can’t stand sins and we were sinners we were going to die with His wrath on us. We had to either become perfect or to have a perfect sacrifice that would die in our place, but there wasn’t a perfect sacrifice in the whole world, we were doomed.

But God provided our sacrifice for us. He sent a perfect sacrifice down from heaven that would completely atone for the sins of the whole entire world. That sacrifice was Jesus, Jesus who was and is the son of God and who was and is perfect. Jesus actually died for our sins on the cross, He took all of God’s wrath and all of our sins on Him and He atoned for us. But why would He die for our sins on the cross?

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (NIV John 3:16)

Jesus loved us so much that He gave His life for us. He died for our sins just because He loved us, we didn’t have anything of earthly value that we could give Him and we certainly weren’t perfect. The reason was because He loved us. The devil offered us sin that we thought were treasures and we thought that it would bring us life, but instead it brought us death and that is why Jesus died for our sins on the cross.

Although that doesn’t mean we can keep sinning because we think the Lord will just forgive everything and we can just keep sinning. No that isn’t what we are supposed to do, in Romans Paul tells us that we are dead to our sins and alive in Christ. We are changed and we now follow Christ’s example, thank you Jesus.

We were going to die because of our sins but Jesus loved us so much that He drank the cup of God’s wrath and died for our sins on the cross, now we should worship Him for everything that He has done and we should share the Gospel with others.

Are you trusting in Jesus as your savior?

Hi God’s word for me today is in Ezekiel 26:2-3 which say,

““Son of man, because Tyre has said of Jerusalem, ‘Aha! The gate to the nations is broken, and its doors have swung open to me; now that she lies in ruins I will prosper,’ 3 therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, Tyre, and I will bring many nations against you, like the sea casting up its waves.”

Okay, in this verse the Lord is talking to Ezekiel and He (the Lord) is prophesying against Tyre. The king of Tyre thought that because Israel, who had been the most powerful nation (because the Lord had been on their side), was destroyed he could take “the gate to the nations” and then he could become the most powerful king in all the nations. But the only reason that Israel had been powerful was because God was on their side and He fought for them, but the nation of Israel sinned and that led to their destruction. All the same the Lord was not on the side of Tyre so He was going to destroy Tyre for their sin.

Tyre was going to be destroyed because of sin, Israel was destroyed because of sin, and we were going to die because of our sin. We were sinners and because God can’t stand sin and hates it, we were going to die because we were sinners. We were going to die with God’s wrath on us and we were going to die with all of our sins on us. Unless we could change and become perfect or unless a perfect sacrifice died in our place then we could go free. But there wasn’t a perfect sacrifice in the whole entire world, so we were going to die because of our sins.

But the Lord in His great mercy had compassion on us and He sent that sacrifice for us. We were going to die because of our sins, and we were going to experience God’s wrath on us, but Jesus provided our sacrifice. So what was that sacrifice? That sacrifice was Jesus! Jesus Himself died for our sins on the cross. Jesus was (and is) the son of God and He was (and is) perfect and He died for our sins on the cross. He took our sins on Himself and He took God’s wrath with our sins, then He died in our place on the cross, thank you Jesus.

But why would Jesus die for our sins on a cross? Well the answer is in 1 John 4:10,

“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (NIV 1 John 4:10)

Jesus loved us so much that He died on the cross for our sins. It wasn’t because we did anything or that we loved Him first, it was because He loved (and loves) us. Now we should worship Jesus for everything He has done, for drinking the cup of wrath to the last drop so that we wouldn’t have to, thank you Jesus.

Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior?

Hello, God’s word for me today is in Ezekiel 25:17 which says,

“I will carry out great vengeance on them and punish them in my wrath. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I take vengeance on them.’”

Here the Lord is saying that He will carry out great vengeance on Philistia because they wanted to destroy God’s people and take them captive. The Lord was going to punish them and take vengeance on them because of it, that shows that God cares for His people. Anyway the Lord was going to destroy Philistia because of their sins, because the Lord couldn’t (and can’t) stand sin so He had to destroy it.

Just like the people of Philistia we were going to die because of our sins. We were terrible sinners that needed to be saved from our sins, but the only way for us to have that happen would be if we could all of a sudden become perfect or somehow find a perfect sacrifice. But of course there wasn’t even 1 perfect sacrifice in this world so we were going to die because of our sins. We were going to have all of God’s wrath poured out on us, but that is why Jesus provided that sacrifice for us!

Jesus not only provided that sacrifice for us, He was that sacrifice. But who is Jesus? Jesus was (and is) the son of God (and God Himself), and He died in our place with our sins on Him and with the wrath of God on Him. Jesus came down from heaven was born of a virgin and lived a perfect life. Then after He was beaten beyond recognition as a man, He died a criminals death on the cross and it was all for us.

Why? Why would God die for us sinners on the cross? What would cause Him to do that? Jesus loved us so much that He died for our sins on the cross, that was the reason that Jesus died for us,

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (NIV John 3:16)

Jesus loved us enough to die for our sins, He loved us enough to bear all of God’s wrath on Himself and He loved us enough to die a criminals death on the cross for us. All we can say is “thank you Jesus” and our response should be to worship Jesus for everything that He’s done for us. We should praise Him for dying on the cross for us and we should share the Gospel with others.

Are you trusting in Jesus as your savior?

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Ezekiel 25:12-13 which says,

““This is what the Sovereign LORD says: ‘Because Edom took revenge on Judah and became very guilty by doing so, 13 therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will stretch out my hand against Edom and kill both man and beast. I will lay it waste, and from Teman to Dedan they will fall by the sword.”

Alright, the Lord is saying that Edom took revenge on Judah, and therefore He (the Lord) was going to destroy Edom and stretch out His hand against Edom destroying man and beast. The reason was because Edom was sinning by getting angry at Judah and taking revenge against Judah, so because of sin Edom was going to be destroyed and all the people and creatures living there were going to die.

Edom was going to be destroyed and the people of Edom were going to die because of their sins, and so were we. We were as sinful as Edom, we might not have done the exact thing that Edom did but if we even told one “little” lie or even though bad about someone, we were sinners and because of that we were going to die just like the people of Edom. We either had to become perfect immediately or have a perfect sacrifice, but because we were sinners and couldn’t become perfect that wasn’t going to work and as for the perfect sacrifice there wasn’t one on this earth. Like the people of Edom, we were going to die.

But that is why God provided that sacrifice for us. The God of heaven actually provided that sacrifice, and something that is even more amazing is that the sacrifice God sent was Jesus! Who was (and is) Jesus? Well Jesus was (and is) the son of God (and God Himself), Jesus actually died for us on the cross. Sin had separated us from God, and if we went into His presence we would die, that is without a sacrifice. But Jesus came between us and God and mediated for us so that we can go into His presence. The way that Jesus mediated for us was by dying on a cross with our sins upon Him! But why would Jesus die for our sins on a cross?

“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (NIV 1 John 4:10)

Jesus loved us so much that He died for our sins on the cross! Now we should worship our mediator Jesus, we should praise Him for what He has done. Also we need to share the Gospel with others, thank you Jesus.

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Ezekiel 24:21 which says,

“Say to the people of Israel, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am about to desecrate my sanctuary—the stronghold in which you take pride, the delight of your eyes, the object of your affection. The sons and daughters you left behind will fall by the sword.”

Okay, the Lord is talking in this verse and He is saying that the sanctuary that He had set up, that the stronghold of the people is about to be desecrated. The temple was a stronghold to the people and they took pride in it, but the reason that the Lord was destroying it was that they were sinning. Instead of worshiping at the temple they were just prideful about it, so the Lord was going to take it away from them so that they would turn back to Him and worship Him like they were supposed to. But the Lord was not only going to destroy the sanctuary, He was going to destroy all of Israel. The punishment that they deserved was death.

The Israelites were going to die because of the sins that they had committed. Same with us, we were sinners and we deserved death. We were going to die unless we could suddenly become perfect (which we couldn’t) or if we had a perfect sacrifice that would die in our place. There’s just one little problem with having a perfect sacrifice to die in our place, there weren’t any perfect sacrifices on earth. We were going to die.

We didn’t have a perfect sacrifice, but that is why Jesus provided that sacrifice for us. In fact He was that sacrifice! Jesus came down from heaven was born of a virgin and lived a perfect life. Then after He had an unjust trial He was beaten so much that He wasn’t recognizable, then after all of that He died on a cross with our sins on Him. The weight of sin on Him was amazing, all the sin of the whole world was on Him and God’s wrath was on Him to. But who exactly is Jesus? How was He perfect? Jesus was (and is) perfect because He was (and is) the son of God (and God Himself). But why would Jesus, the son of God Himself, die for our sins?

“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (NIV 1 John 4:10)

Jesus loved us so much that He died for our sins on the cross! He actually died for us sinners because He loved (and loves) us. Now we should worship Jesus for all that He has done for us. He was mocked, spit on, rejected and just about every other horrible thing that you can think of, and He did it all for us. The only thing that is in reply to that should be: thank you so much Jesus!

We should worship Jesus and we should share the gospel with others.

Are you trusting in Jesus?

Hi, God’s word for me today is in Ezekiel 24:13 which says,

“‘Now your impurity is lewdness. Because I tried to cleanse you but you would not be cleansed from your impurity, you will not be clean again until my wrath against you has subsided.”

Okay, the Israelites wouldn’t be cleansed from their impurity until the Lord’s wrath against them had subsided. Clearly the Israelites were sinning and that was the reason that the Lord had wrath against them, and they needed to be cleansed from the impure acts that they were doing but they couldn’t until the Lord’s wrath against them had subsided. The Israelites are in quite the predicament because the Babylonians were coming to take them over and they were going to die because of their sin but in order for them to be cleaned they would have to have the Lord’s wrath against them subside, but in order for that to happen they had to be clean or have a clean sacrifice die in their place. They were going to die.

So were we. The Israelites needed to be cleansed by either becoming perfect (which they couldn’t do) or having a perfect sacrifice die in their place (something that was impossible because there wasn’t a perfect sacrifice on earth) so they were going to die. It is the same with us, unless someone took the wrath of God away from us and gave us cleansing we were going to die. But the Lord in His great and everlasting mercy helped us.

There wasn’t a perfect sacrifice that could give us perfection and take the wrath of God on us away, or at least there wasn’t a perfect sacrifice on earth. But in heaven God sent that sacrifice down to us. That sacrifice was Jesus. Jesus the creator of the whole universe, the maker of all things, the Lord of everything actually died in our place on the cross. He came down from heaven and bore comprehensible torment and suffering for us. He was beaten beyond recognition for us, He died on the cross with our sins and the wrath of God on Him for us. He was (and is) our savior, He was the one who took away the wrath of God and gave us perfection, thank you so much Jesus.

One last question though, why? Why would the creator of all things and the Lord of the universe die in our place on the cross? No king or lord or this earth would do that for us, what makes the King of Kings and the Lord or Lords different from them? The reason was because He loved us, He loved (and loves) each and every one of us so much that He humbled Himself and became a man (a God-man) and then He humbled Himself to death on a cross. The cross was reserved for the worst of criminals, but even though Jesus didn’t do any sin in His life He had our sins on Him and He died on the cross with our sins on Him and after He was buried, on the third day He rose from the grave and ascended into heaven. But He atoned for our sins. How many times can we say “thank you Jesus”?

Now we should worship the one who died for our sins, the one who shed His blood in our place. We should praise Him for what He has done and we should also share the good news of the Gospel with others, we should want to give the news that saves lives to others.

Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and savior?
